Irwin Scopp Fellowship Award for Service
Irwin Scopp Fellowship Award Criteria
The Irwin W. Scopp Fellowship was established to honor Dr. Irwin W. Scopp for his outstanding service and contributions to the Society. The award is made to a member and is based on the following criteria:
- Nominations for an Irwin Scopp Fellowship may be made to the Awards Committee by any member in good standing, who must provide the supporting information as to why this candidate should be considered. The committee itself may propose an individual for this honor.
- Selection will be based on outstanding service to the profession, outstanding service to the Society and having been an active member in good standing for at least eight (8) years.
- A maximum of two (2) fellowships a year shall be proposed if there are qualified candidates.

Isador Hirschfeld Award for Clinical Excellence
Isador Hirschfeld Award Criteria
The Isadore Hirschfeld Memorial Medal was established to honor the memory of our member, the late Dr. Isadore Hirschfeld, for his outstanding contributions to the art and science of Periodontics. The award is made to an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and is based on the following criteria:
- Contributions to the advancement of Periodontology through dental research.
- Contributions to the advancement of Periodontology through dental education.
- Contributions to the periodontal literature.
- Outstanding service to the society.
